Turning to Him in Times of Trouble

In times of trouble, in times of failure, or in times of just plain sadness, it’s hard to turn to anyone that speaks to my heart. It’s hard to find people that really give me those right words of peace and comfort. I can’t search for that inner “peace and comfort” through the physical world, so I turn to the Lord.

Psalms 66:17-20 I cried to him with my mouth, and high praise was on my tongue. If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. But truly God has listened; he has attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, because he has not rejected my prayer or removed his steadfast love from me!

My family and I have been dealing with some personal troubles, and tomorrow is going to be a very long and important day. If you could keep my family in your prayers, it would be so kind and appreciated.

Not everyone in my family turns to God like I do. But it doesn’t discourage me from praying, and encouraging them to pray. I have faith that God will shed light and fill their hearts with His love and His word, but I know I must do what is right and what is good, and not back away from my faith when other family members don’t have as much.
It’s important to carry out His word even when you’re surrounded by others who don’t take His word into consideration. Again, you may be the only connection to Christ that someone has, so it’s extremely important to lead by example.

Sorry, just needed to get that out. I will hopefully post an update after tomorrow, and post more routinely to some sort of schedule.
