Houston Hotspots: Personal Favorites

Houston has some really great places to visit. Whether you’re looking for art exhibits, restaurants, entertainment, or just a place to walk around and enjoy the great outdoors, H-Town has literally some of the coolest stuff to do.ArtCarMuseum
The ArtCar Museum, I’ve personally never been but really want to visit.
Here’s their website to learn more about it!

The Menil Collection is a contemporary art museum that is totally free! You can walk in during open hours with no reservations or tickets, and the art is beautiful.

They have everything menilfrom paintings of original artwork, to sculptures, to ancient art/sculpture/statues/etc and even art that manipulates sound! The area around the museum is also a beauty. I went here on Valentine’s Day this year with boyfriend.
Here’s more info on it 🙂

Another great find is Agora 2014-07-29 22.09.45coffee shop located in Montrose. Montrose itself is artsy and wonderful, but this two story coffee shop has no complaints from me! It’s beautiful greek themed art is displayed inside and is open till two in the morning! The vibe from this place is great, and the ambience of it all gives off chill vibes. It’s a great social scene.

A good restaurant to eat at is Spindletop. It’s mostly seafood but it’s delicious! A bit pricey…okay a LOT pricey, but the whole experience combined with the food is definitely worth a trip. It’s located at the tippy top of Hyatt Regency Hotel in Houston. Literally it took me almost 20 minutes trying to figure out how to get to it from the top floor. It’s a spinning restaurant. While you’re dining, the restaurant spins at a very slow pace, and you get a great view of Houston and it’s inner city beauty. Reservations can be made here.

Lastly, here’s some more pics of Montrose because I’m totally in love with this part of town. This features the funnel tunnel, cute little colorful shops, an artist’s house, and this really cool rainbow wall that I wish I had a better name for it. funnel-tunnel-done
